I went on a GREAT HIKE yesterday with my husband, John, and our friend, Rick. What a BEAUTIFUL DAY it was! I love the area in which I live and look forward to more and more hikes this year as John and I prepare to hike Half Dome in Yosemite later this fall. Yes, that’s right, you read correctly. One of my goals is to climb that rock. It’s all about the climb this year…literally. :0) It’s doable and I’m training to make it possible.
I have continued diligently through February with my gym routine and it’s beginning to pay off. I am making better food choices and trying hard to apply better eating habits. It’s proving to be the most challenging aspect in my pursuit of healthiness. I marvel at how long it has taken (nearly two months) me to get back on track; feeling stronger, more firm, flexible, coordinated, capable and clean (on the inside), when it takes no time at all to derail and for the opposite to happen. I hope to see epic results this year! I’ll be 45 next January. I want the rest of my life to be the best and healthiest time of my life. That requires constant effort, hard work and sacrifice. It’s worth it, though.
Someone at the gym once told me, “We don’t exercise because we hate our bodies, we exercise because we LOVE our bodies.” I like that. It’s true. Sometimes it feels like I do it because I hate it (the way it looks and performs – or doesn’t, haha) but, no, the opposite is true. I’m grateful to be alive, grateful to have a body. It will respond to my positive or negative treatment of it. So, out of LOVE for yourself and those who love you, choose to BE HEALTHY today.
Here’s to YOU and ME and GOOD HEALTH!
